Oh good Lord…as much as I’d like to avoid any and all correspondence with Jim ‘cuckoo-for-cocoa-puffs’ Messina, I remain subscribed to stay informed on what garbage they’re sending out, as much as it hurts my head. **Urgent: #HeadDesk Warning**
The email begins with this:
The President reached an agreement with Republicans and Democrats in Congress on the “fiscal cliff” that prevents a tax hike on 98 percent of Americans and 97 percent of small businesses, while fulfilling the President’s promise to ask the wealthiest Americans to begin to pay their fair share to reduce the deficit.
So I guess Messina missed the memo where taxes are getting raised for 77% of American’s????
It’s thanks to people like you who spoke up and contacted your members of Congress throughout this debate that we were able to avoid a crippling tax hike.
Ok Jim, let’s review.
Colleague Ed Henry says CBO indicates #fiscalcliff bill has $620 billion in new tax hikes. $15 billion in spending cuts.

I realize the number $620 billion is beyond comprehension for most, it sure as hell is for me, but there you go.
From the Washington Post:
The Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan Washington research group, estimates that 77 percent of American households will face higher federal taxes in 2013 under the agreement negotiated between President Barack Obama and Senate Republicans. High-income families will feel the biggest tax increases, but many middle- and low-income families will pay higher taxes too.
And in case all that is still too much for you, here is a nice little picture from the Heritage Foundation to make things a little clearer.
If your head hasn’t already exploded, here is the sweet video Jim asked us to share with friends and family. Make sure to share it with them after they look at their next paystub.
